Affiliate & Funding Disclosure

Last updated: 2026-05-09

This Disclosure explains how findlandsurveyor.com makes money and how that affects what you see on the Site. We believe transparency is the foundation of trust, and this page is written in plain English.

1. The directory is free for property owners

If you are a property owner using the Site to find a licensed land surveyor, you owe us nothing. There is no charge to browse the directory, no charge to read our guides, and no charge to submit a request for an estimate. Every phone number, email address, and license signal in the directory is freely visible.

2. How we make money

The Site is funded through two revenue streams, both paid by land surveying firms (not by property owners):

Featured Profile subscriptions. Surveyors can purchase a paid Featured Profile that places their listing at the top of relevant directory pages and adds enhanced display features such as photos, descriptions, and a direct estimate request button. Featured Profiles are clearly labelled with a "Featured" badge wherever they appear. Pricing is published on the For Surveyors page.

Affiliate or referral relationships. The Site may participate in affiliate or referral arrangements with surveyor lead networks, software products, or related services. When such an arrangement applies to a particular page, link, or recommendation, we earn a commission at no additional cost to you if you take a qualifying action through that link.

3. FTC affiliate disclosure

This Disclosure satisfies the Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255). Where any specific page on the Site contains affiliate links, sponsored content, or paid placements, that page also includes a clear in-context disclosure identifying the relationship. Any opinion expressed on the Site is our own and is not influenced by any compensation received.

4. How "Featured" listings differ from organic listings

Within any state, county, or borough page, listings appear in two groups: Featured (paid placement, displayed first and clearly labelled) and Organic (unpaid, sourced from public records and ranked by objective signals such as profile completeness, license verification, and Google rating count). Featured placement does not affect license verification or any quality signal we display; it affects only ranking position and display features.

5. What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not run lead auctions or charge surveyors per-lead fees for the leads we route.
  • We do not accept payment to remove negative reviews or alter editorial content.
  • We do not write articles or guides that are designed to favour any particular surveyor or product.
  • We do not list firms in states where licensing cannot be reasonably verified against public records.

6. Editorial independence

Our editorial decisions about what to publish, how to rank organic listings, and what to recommend in our guides are made independently of any commercial relationship. If we ever recommend a specific product, service, or surveyor in our editorial content because of a paid arrangement, that recommendation will be clearly labelled as sponsored.

7. Questions

If you have a question about how we make money or how a specific page or recommendation is monetized, contact [email protected]. We will answer honestly.
